They form a symbiotic relationship with the tree’s roots, and interestingly, never grow in the same spot more than one time. So once you pick that mushroom, you’re in effect changing the course of mushroom history. Matsutake are hard to find, though simple to harvest, and, therefore, the price is very high. Interestingly, the only justification for this high price is a rich flavour of these mushrooms, nobody says nothing about some healthy features of them.
